Zelensky announces third phase of prisoner exchange

Zelensky stressed that the exchange of soldiers is an important moment and an opportunity to unite more free people with their families. According to him, 273 of the returning soldiers had been caught in the Donnetsk region, and another part were banned in 2022 when war broke out, from the territories of Kherson, Zaporisigissia, Kharkiv, and Luhansk.
The president also announced that on May 25th the third phase of exchange of prisoners of war in the format “1000 for 1000<18x1>, where Ukraine will attempt to free 1,000 Ukrainian prisoners still in the hands of Russian authorities.
“We must release a thousand of our people these days,” said Zelenskyy, stressing that this is an important task for intelligence services, diplomats and the entire Ukrainian state. He also called for further support from international partners, thanking those who are engaged in this difficult process.
Citing the difficulties of this process, Zelensky stressed that even though the task is difficult, it must be fulfilled. It's very important for us to have our partners every leader, every state to support us in this difficult job,” he added. /Periscope/
