Visa joins Al giants to explore the future of digital payments

The goal is to transfer personal budgeting jobs to AI robots.

Users will be able to establish preferences and spending limits, then the agents of AI will seek products and complete purchases.

Partner companies include American firms Anthropic, Microsoft, OpenAI and Perplexy, and France's Mistral, writes euronewsFollow Periscope.

Visa is also working on the initiative with IBM, the internet payment company Stripe and the phone maker Samsung.

Pilot projects began Wednesday, ahead of the broader use expected next year.

The payment processing company in San Francisco is betting that what now looks like a futuristic concept may soon become a suitable alternative to our purchase.

For Al development companies, Visa's support could also increase their chances of competing with Amazon technology giants and Google, which are developing their AI agents.

“We think this could be really important”, the chief of the product and strategy of Visa said in an interview.

Otherwise, the new initiative comes nearly a year after Visa discovered major changes in the way credit and debit cards in the US will work, making their physical cards and their 16-sifro numbers increasingly insignificant.
