Prosecutor says victims of cruel crimes seek justice, defence claims that Joliqi has been involved in the crime he is accused of.

Initially, the final word has been delivered in writing by the special prosecutor, Ilir Morina, who declared that today a long process is completed not only for the defendant, but more for those injured who have been waiting for justice for more than 20 years.
Morina said that now is the time to establish justice in the country for victims of this cruel crime, reports “Justice Trust”, broadcast Periscope
Prosecutor Morina said the evidence administered during this trial is clear and unequivocal, and that they clearly indicate that the accused has committed the criminal acts he is charged with.
Regarding the evidence administered in this judicial examination, prosecutor Morina asked the court to take into account the burden of evidence ahead and to make a decision reflecting the requirements of justice. He said the victims of these cruel crimes require justice.
“The victims of these cruel crimes require justice”, the prosecutor said.
Finally, prosecutor Morina asked the court to convict the accused and sentence him by law.
He also demanded that the detention measure continue against the accused until the full might of the decision.
The final written word has also been issued by the defender of accused Joliq, lawyer Miodrag Brklic.
The lawyer stated that the indictment presented by the prosecutor claims his client during March and May 1998 has collaborated with several others in beating the three injured civilians of Albanian nationality and qualified him as a war crime.
Regarding evidence administered in this judicial review, lawyer Brkljak said he did not confirm that his client was a police officer or a uniform.
I claim very strongly on the basis of all the tests that have been administered during this procedure, that my client has not been a regular cop or a uniform. He has not been in uniform and has not been involved in this crime involving”, the Brklic lawyer said.
He asked the court to free him from the charge because he felt that there was no evidence to prove his guilt.
Finally, the chairman of the court, Judge Underhem Arren, announced the court review as he appointed it for another date.
Otherwise, on June 10, 2024, the Constitutional Court in Pristina had sentenced defendant Joliq to eight years in prison for war crimes in the city of Istog. But, the Court of Appeals on November 4th, 2024, has turned the case against him into retrial.
Otherwise, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) on November 18th, 2022, has filed charges against defendants Caslav Jolic with the argument that during the time of the Kosovo war, in co-ordination with other people, violating the rules of international law, applied torture measures and causing great suffering or violation of body integrity or civil health that have not directly participated in conflicts for reasons related to the war.
