For about 7 hours, former Kosovo Assembly President Gramos Agusholli has been banned by Serbian authorities. It was banned this morning in Merdare, while traveling toward Slovenia.
Agusholl has said he was given no reason for his ban, but believes the ban was politically motivated. I have not been given any concrete and official reasons for the ban. Everything happened unexpectedly and without any clear explanation. It was understood that it was a politically motivated ban, as unfortunately happens often with institutional representatives from Kosovo”, has confessed Agusholli.
He said he stayed in the car for about three hours with his family and that he had no right to move. It then says that it has been questioned for nearly four hours by Serbian officials in an isolated environment.
Their treatment says it was far from correct.
There was no physical violence, but treatment was far from correct. Their approach has been derogatory, with unnecessary tension and politically motivated questions. At no moment have I felt treated as a citizen who is crossing a border for family reasons more like an attempt at fear or intentional provocation”, Agucholli told Reporter.net.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora announced the ban on Agusholl. MPJD said diplomatic missions of the QUINT states and the EU office in Belgrade have also been announced on the occasion.
The ministry has called on the international community to react to Serbia for stopping such practices.
“The MPJD will continue to carefully convey any situation that violates the rights of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, and calls on the International Community to react to Serbia for preventing such relations that conflicts with fundamental principles of international law and with international conventions on human rights”, the report said.
After his release, Agusholli has continued on its way to Slovenia./Periscopi/
