Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani will start consultations concerning the Assembly's constitutionalisation, reports Periscope.
They have made it known to Periscope by the presidency itself, until they said the invitations were submitted and confirmed.
“President Osmani will begin a series of consultations on the issue of the Assembly's binding from May 15th. The invitations have already been submitted for the first meetings and are awaiting confirmation”, Bekim Cupina from the Presidency confirmed.
This meeting comes after the expression of President Osmani's readiness to host leaders of all political parties at a comprehensive meeting, if they consider such a commitment necessary.
The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has already expressed full readiness since April 16th, to host political party leaders if they see this necessary. We didn't have that request until yesterday. Now that some parties have demanded that the president call at the joint meeting of leaders, the President's Cabinet will soon contact the political parties to see what is the appropriate time for all, for such a comprehensive meeting”, so it was announced a few days ago by the President's office.
Three months after the February 9th elections, Kosovo continues to be without a functional Assembly, as MPs have failed 13 times in a row to present the new Parliament.
Vetevendosje is failing to secure the 61 votes needed to elect Albulen Haxhiu to the post of Parliament Speaker.
Haxhiu is viewed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo as a split “figuric”, while the Democratic League of Kosovo says it will not support any Vetevendosje candidate for prime minister.
Otherwise, on Sunday there was a 14th session aimed at the construction, but it didn't end successfully either.
The next session will be held on May 13th, Tuesday. /Periscopi/
