This agreement comes at a key moment for Ukraine, which is trying to rebuild economically after the serious damage the war has done to Russia. It includes the creation of the Investment Fund for Reconstruction, which will serve as the basis for attracting capital and developing strategic sectors in the country.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who has recently warned of withdrawal from mediation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, has described this agreement as a major achievement.
“Thanks to leadership, today the United States and Ukraine signed the Reconstruction Investment Fund Agreement, a historic moment in our shared prosperity and an important step in ending this war.”, Rubio wrote in a post on the X platform.
