In announcement from this organisation, they have said it is unacceptable that Kosovo citizens are being denied fair judgment.
Onward, O The VL-KLA has called on Kosovo institutions and internationals not to remain indifferent to former KLA fighters' rights violations.
REAGIM
The Association of Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army expresses full support for the positions of the Ombudsman, Mr. Naim Celaj, made public over serious concerns about dealing with indictees at Specialised Chambers in The Hague.
These concerns, which include:
- Prolonged detention invasion,
- The lack of transparency in procedures,
- Unable to visit all prisoners,
as well as ignoring local security institutions,
are evidence of the selective and unilateral approach this court has shown from its establishment.
It is unacceptable for Kosovo citizens to be held for years in detention, denying them the possibility of fair, quick and close judgment. This treatment, which also ignores the presumption of innocence, is not only unfair but also harmful to our country's democratic and sovereign future.
Our organisation recognises the commitment of the ombudsman in protecting human rights and invites him to continue decisively monitoring and addressing violations that take place against Kosovo indictees.
Also, O VL- The KLA calls on Kosovo institutions, international organisations and wide public opinion not to remain indifferent to the violation of the rights of former Kosovo Liberation Army fighters, who dignifiedly served the country and surrendered voluntarily, showing respect for justice, which, unfortunately, is going through them.
Freedom and justice are inseparable, and there can be no justice without dignity and equality.
