In KFOR's announcement, Italian cabarabiniers from KFOR's Multinational Specialisation Unit, part of the NATO-led mission, are speaking of commitment to their engagement in the municipality of Mitrovica, supporting local communities through regular presence and daily patrols.
With the fixed presence on the main bridge of Ibër, which has historically been a sensitive point of division in the city, as well as patrols in surrounding areas, carabiniers aim to contribute to the preservation of security and stability in northern Kosovo.
These actions are part of KFOR's day-to-day mission to ensure a safe and secure environment for all communities without ethnic or related differences. NATO, through KFOR, remains committed to supporting long-term peace and freedom of movement in Kosovo.
KFOR representatives have stressed that their presence aims to strengthen confidence among communities and help preserve stability in an area of high political and ethnic sensitivity. /Periscope/
