Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hands Charges Against ZRE for Market Liberalisation

Kosovo's Chamber of Commerce and Industry has taken the next legal step to protect the interests of member businesses and the entire private sector in the country, formally handing over the indictment against the Energy Regulatory Office to the Foundation Court in Pristina, due to serious legal and procedural violations in the decision to liberalisation [...]
The Chamber believes this ZERE decision is hasty, arbitrary and well unprepared, with direct consequences for the financial sustainability of businesses to be affected by the decision.
The decision has been taken without preliminary consultations with the interest parties, without a deepening market analysis, and that, in addition to risking business sustainability, risks jobs. Furthermore, despite public statements that the market has been liberalised and that numerous opportunities for supply are open, it is currently only a company KESCO CHA, which is sending offers for supply of businesses. This conflicts with the very essence of liberalisation and turns this process into a hidden monopoly, increasing the risk of price and quality abuse of service. Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry calls on justice institutions to immediately intervene in suspending this decision and ordering Z The RRE to return to a regular, transparent and comprehensive process”, the announcement says.
Djetik says she remains committed to protecting business interest and will continue to undertake all legal, political and public actions to secure a fair, fair and open energy market for all.
