According to the latest report published by WHO, only 19 out of 36 hospitals remain functional, and these are also facing a severe lack of supplies, insufficient staff and extremely serious working conditions. Of these, only 12 offer a number of health services, while the rest only allow minimal emergency treatment.
“Since the start of hostilities on March 18, 2025, O The BSH has recorded 28 attacks on medical facilities, while as of October 2023, at least 697 such attacks have been reported in the report.
In South Gaza, where hospitals still operate, the situation is alarming because of overcrowding and the large influx of wounded. Currently, only 2,000 beds for more than 2 million people are available throughout Gaza for a completely insufficient capacity to cope with the humanitarian crisis.
O The BSH requires an immediate and permanent ceasefire, stressing that the United Nations and their partners have a ready and proven plan to provide safe and effective assistance to the population in need. /Periscope/
