Ahmeti for Albanian elections: A Step Closer to the EU

Democratic Union for Integration Chairman Ali Ahmeti has welcomed the development of parliamentary elections held yesterday in Albania, naming them a testimony to the country's democratic maturity.

In a public response, Ahmeti stressed that the election process took place in a calm and orderly atmosphere, where citizens exercised the right to vote freely and with a high democratic culture.

“Albania once again witnessed its democratic maturity by successfully passing another key test on the path towards full integration into the European Union,” has written Ahmeti in Facebook.

He also wished that the voting counting process would be completed with professionalism and transparency, in line with the law and the will of citizens.

According to Ahmeti, yesterday's elections are a clear indication that Albania and its citizens are prepared to be an equal part of the European family and to face with responsibility the challenges this road brings./Periscopi/
