A 38-year-old Albanian lost his life after the car he was driving away from police came out of the way and crashed into a telephone pole.
The event took place at around 20:30 when two police patrols noticed two vehicles traveling at high speed.
Order forces began tracking vehicles, trying to stop one of them, a Fiat 500. On board this car was a 26-year-old Italian who was immediately arrested.
Meanwhile, the other car, which was driven by the 38-year-old Albanian, narrowed down a road with soil, leaving behind a thick cloud of dust that temporarily prevented police prosecution.
A few minutes later, the vehicle came out of the street and slammed into a telephone pole, turning upside down.
For the Albanian driver, nothing could be done. He lost his life at the scene. The lifeless body was transported to the hospital morgue “Tor Vergata”.
Near the accident car, the police found a bag containing about 50 pounds [25 kg] of cocaine, divided into 23 packages.
Preliminary investigations suggest the two young people were transporting narcotics during the pursuit.
The 26-year-old Italian has been sent to the Velletri prison and faces charges of co-operation in possession and distribution of narcotics.
Italian authorities are continuing to fully whiteen the event and determine all the responsibilities involved in this case. /Periscope/
