The tariffs announced by Donald Trump for the countries of the world can significantly increase the prices of many products, and this can particularly affect iPhone prices.
The Reuters agency released an analysis saying Apple may be the most affected by Trump tariffs and praised a significant increase in iPhone prices by up to 43 percent, notes Periscope.
The tariffs can push the basic iPhone 16 from $799 to about $1,142, while the iPhone 16 pro Max price could rise from $1,599 to nearly $2,300.
China, a leading supplier of large American companies like Apple, will face a 34 - percent fee, while India will be hit with a fee of 26 percent.
Since most iPhones are still produced in these two countries, prices can rise significantly.
“Apple produces almost all its iPhones in China, and the question will be whether there will be exceptions for those investing in the US”, Wedbush analyst Dan Ives told CBS.
However, US Trade Secretary Howard Lutnick said Apple could easily solve problems with tariffs and price hikes.
“just make iPhones in America. Army of millions, remember, will twist little screws to make iPhones. Something like that will come to America. Our educated Americans in high school -- the core of our labor force -- will have our next “, namely, the largest “of jobs in American history to work on these high-tech factories, all coming to America next.
