Shala: Trump tariffs second blow to Kosovo businesses, Government focused as oligarchs

The president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has announced the deployment of new tariffs to US business partners, which have already entered into force. On the list of states affected by new tariffs Kosovo will also figure, which will face a 10 per cent fee, Periscope reports. Tariffen [...]
10 percent Tariffen, MP PDK considers Ferat Shala a blow to few businesses which export their production across the ocean.
The former chairman of the Commission for Economics, told Periscope that Kosovo's exports to the US will have drastic decline in the next 2-3 years.
” Seting tariffs is a bad signal for Kosovo's economy and local production, but there is also a political signal that generally shows our reports. We've enriched a portion of US exports in recent years and we have a special status like Kosovo in economic relations with the US, which has changed, so we don't rule out the economic policies of Trump, and this will seriously affect Kosovo's local ideas and production that it has with the US”, Shala said.
Shala added that the incoming government should help businesses through drafting a strategy.
He added that businesses exporting their goods to the US have been attacked by Kurti-led Government.
The government would have to draw up specific plans and strategies for local production and exports, which were so far. So we still don't have a strategy plan for how to act and how to deal with regional and global economic markets. Exclude that we're just importative and export assets. Even these few companies that have exported goods to the United States, the government also focuses both oligarchs and persecuted them in the economic and political sense, so this will be the second blow to”, Shala said.
In the list of states affected by new tariffs other than Kosovo, there are also the countries of the region.
Serbia has imposed a 37 per cent fee, while Albania's products will be taxed by 10 per cent.

Otherwise, the US will set tariffs on the European Union (20%), Vietnam (46%), Taiwan (32%), Japan (24%), India (26%), South Korea (25%) and Thailand (36%), reports BBC.
One of the most important measures announced is the 25 percent rate on all foreign auto producers.
According to Trump, over 80 percent of cars produced in South Korea are sold inland, while over 90 percent of cars sold in Japan are produced there. By contrast, American vehicles represent a very small market in these countries.
During the speech, Trump has criticised the European Union and some Asian countries for the tariffs imposed on US-made vehicles, claiming that those times have already ended.
In conclusion to his statement, he has restored the popular rhetoric “The America of Para”, stressing that the US must protect its economic interests and no longer pursue economic withdrawal policies at the expense of its people.
