With this donation, Pope Francis recalled once again how his work has been marked by caution. The money was taken from his personal account, but his latest gesture raised a question: How much does the Pope really win? And how much do cardinals earn?
The Pope does not have a fixed salary. Since 2013, Pope Francesescu had given up any personal compensation, putting into practice the poverty and simplicity he had embraced by choosing the name of the Peverelo of Assisi, Pryskopi follows.
According to some sources, he had a symbolic salary (equal to what Benedict XVI received) about 2,500 euros a month, but he had never received it. All his expenses (food, accommodation, transportation, healthcare, safety.) were completely covered by the Holy See. Francescu later chose to live in Domus Sanctae Martha, instead of the papal residence, as another choice of humility.
In addition to his salary and residence, every potential theoretically has access to Peters Pence, a Vatican fund fed by donations of believers and aims to finance the church's charity and missionary initiatives.
Meanwhile, Bishops receive about 3,000 euros per month, while priests have an average salary of about 1,200 euros. Finally, the reins and nuns do not receive real income unless they take on specific roles. (A2 Television)
