OpenAI is working on a social network similar to X reported The Verge on Tuesday citing numerous sources close to the issue.

It's an internal prototype focused on the ChatGPT image generator that has a social cohesion said the report.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman privately has asked for impressions and assessments by foreign figures regarding the project that is still in early stages. It is still unclear whether the company will launch social network as a separate app or integrate it directly into ChatGPT, follows Periscope.

This movement would further escalate the tensions between Altman and billionaire Elon Musk, who owns X but also OpenAI co-founder. He left the AI in 2018.

Tensions between two technological leaders have escalated in recent months. In February a consortium of investors led by Elon Musk made an offer of $ 97.4 billion to buy OpenAI, which was immediately rejected by Altman.

A social network from OpenAI would also come in direct competition with the Facebook industry giant. / PCWorld Albanian
