Thus, MP Albulen Haxhiu did not get enough votes for the position, which led to the suspension of sessions for 48 hours.
But what are the legal deadlines until the election of this position, by the name proposed by the Vetevendosje Movement?
Volnet Bugakku from the Kosovo Democratic Institute says the Constitution allows Vetevendosje Movement as the largest parliamentary group to again propose the name for the Speaker of the Parliament.
He even explains what steps MPs to the greatest political subject can take if the appointment of this position fails again.
“If we continue the following days and the Vetevendosje Movement does not have a co-governance agreement with any other political subject that guarantees a fair majority of 61 votes in the Assembly then these MPs may seek to say thus the possibility either to consider the possibility of again questioning the Constitutional Court or to present a case or case in the Constitutional Court to resolve the candidate proposal for chairmanial Parliament”, he said.
According to him, any interruption of the session cannot last more than 48 hours and that the MP's oath does not imply that the Assembly is constitutionalised and that this is done only when the chief parliament is elected. /Periscope/
