Kosovo egg price again rises

From Monday, in the chain of specialised shops of the country's most dominant bird products producer, the price of eggs, a set, or 30 pieces of eggs, has risen exactly to 3.80 euros from 3.50 euros, as was weeks, perhaps even months, unstable. Meanwhile, yesterday on one of the markets of one [...]

Today, a total of 30 pieces of eggs in many markets in the country exactly cost between 3.80 and 4.20 euros, even here on some brands of even 4.50 euros. These prices have been about 10 percent lower by the start of this week, according to price surveyors in the country's markets.

From Monday (21 April 20220), with new egg prices raised in Kosovo markets (at specialised stores, in minimarkets, brands and megamarkets, in green markets) has challenged consumers, in which, of course, this price hike has not been well received.

“Possibly, producers and egg traders in Kosovo, more influenced by the chain impacts of price hikes as a result of re-launched prices of 16.1 percent of electricity, than by the real impact of new electricity prices on egg producers, have not waited long to raise the” prices, says a debacler, a regular purchaser of eggs in a specialised bird products store here in the capital.

He expresses fears there will still be price hikes on this product, commemorating the first half of October 2024, when in Kosovo within a week, the price of eggs has occurred 2 times.

However, from Monday, in the specialised chain of the country's most dominant producer of bird products, which is already valued among consumers and serves as a reference to the performance of bird products prices, the price of eggs, a set, or 30 pieces of eggs, has been raised precisely to 3,80 euros from 3,50 euros, as it was weeks, perhaps even months, unstable. Meanwhile, yesterday in one of the markets of a large domestic trade company, a complete egg was priced at 4.20 euros.

There is no convincing explanation by businessmen for the influx of the re-launching of egg prices in Kosovo. The causes of returning egg prices - none of the merchants but speculation - have any correct explanation. Many merchants stress the cause of rising electricity prices. /Periscope
