Haradinaj: April 1999 remains one of the most painful wounds of our nation

The April 1999 “marks one of the most painful months for many families from Llap and Gollaku. In an effort to escape Serbian terror, over 124 innocent civilians fell into the ambush of Serbian criminal forces, who spared no one, no children, women and elderly men,” writes Haradinaj.
It also commemorates the heavy massacre in the Gjakova Deva, where seven brothers from the Bobby family were brutally executed, as well as the crime in Ribar Minor, where 25 civilians were killed from this village and 6 from the village of Vushec.
“Today, on the anniversary of the Battle of Marec and the massacre in Makoc, Pristina marks Witness Day. In awe, we commemorate the bravery of the 153-year-old Brigade of KLA and BIA guerrilla” he emphasises.
Haradinaj has commemorated all martyrs who fell in fierce battles against Serb invading forces on April 18th 1999, in the villages of Marec, Makoc, Slovi and beyond.

Sefedin Ilaz Vitita, Besimi Isti, Fehmi Vitita, Muharrem Pacolli, Tremandman Murataj, Ziaver Vlasaliu, Sohab Gerbeshi, Sobih Avdush Gerbeshi, Beater Gerbeshi, Baki Salih Pacolli, Azem Miftar Hajdaraj, Enver Jahir Tahiri, Ibish Hoxha, Januz Zeenullah, Mehdi Zymer Fazliu, Naqir Sacira Sacira, Shiqafar Aqifari, Premika, Lükatica, Lizajka Aska and Caca.
Also, at the Gradina of the Drenica Plateau, where the 121 “Ishart Jashari @manova” and broadcast Radio Free Kosovo fell to the altar of freedom Mentor Morina, Haliim Bajraktari, Mentor Gashi, Islam Kastrati and Ramadan Bytyci.
The blood and sacrifice of liberation fighters, witnesses and Martyrs, which remain the foundation of our citizenship and everlasting inspiration for generations. Their sacrifice obliges us to preserve this freedom as the nation's most precious asset,” concluded Haradinaj.
