DUI: New VII class programme wipes Albanians off textbooks

The new programme of the Education Development Bureau to the Ministry of Education and Science for Sub-x0Hestor and Society” in the VII class represents a step backwards and a grave insult to Albanians in this country, accused today by DUI, writes Telegrafi, broadcast Periscope. This document, they say by DUI, should guide [...]
This document, the DUI, which should guide authors in preparing textbooks, completely ignores Albanians, culture, history and their contribution to our common state.
In the previous version of this programme, prepared by the previous government, students were clearly required to learn the history of their people and other peoples living in the country.
It promoted awareness of identity, coexistence, and intercultural respect.
In the new program, these contents have been deleted without explanation. Any mention of Albanians is missing, and of their role in the historical, cultural and social developments of this state.
This is not a technical change. It's a political message to create a story where Albanians don't exist.
It is a deliberate exception to common confession and an attempt to change the way new generations will understand this country and those living in it.
History and society cannot be taught by ignoring one of the leading peoples of the state.
The new programme not only denies Albanian students the right to look at themselves in school books but damages the effort for co-existence, equality and mutual respect” itself, the DUI statement said.
From there, authorities responsible for attracting this unilateral programme and restoring a comprehensive approach reflecting the social and historical reality of Northern Macedonia.
