On this marked day, Tahir recalls the sacrifices and battles that have enabled the outworking of this important act.

Today, 17 years after, the Constitution of Kosovo remains a high historical act that followed the February 17th 2008 Declaration of Independence. As a historical and legal document, our Constitution has fulfilled the political goal of creating the legal framework that supports the establishment of Kosovo institutions and has been served as umbrellas for the laws we have in force.
Kosovo's constitution is an advanced document that meets international standards in relation to the organisation and division of power, the fulfilment of human rights and the full respect of minority freedoms and fundamental rights. This document, adopted 17 years ago, is a state-form constitution, in a mass imposed by the international community, which called for the inclusion of the Ahtisaari Plan in it.
17 years after declaring independence and entering into force of the Constitution, many constitutional laws and provisions have passed the application deadline and require a deep revision to adapt to new state developments, institutional adjustment, political and socioeconomic aspects of Kosovo. It seems necessary in the near future to take on a serious approach to the degree of constitutional application, taking into account the challenges and opportunities that Kosovo faces in the current phase of state-building and EU integration, as well as the realisation of its strategic goals. The revision process should be intended to help advance the state of Kosovo, ensuring that its Constitution and legislation remain appropriate to respond to demands to strengthen our state.
On this momentous day, we also remember the sacrifices and battles that have enabled the outworking of this important act. From the period of war and the commitment of the Kosovo Liberation Army to the commitment of political leaders, activists and ordinary citizens, Kosovo has gone through a difficult and difficult journey to get there. The Constitutional Day is an honor and thanks to all who gave everything on this issue, for those who fought and worked for freedom, independence and a Kosovo state based on democracy and rule of law.
On this day of the Constitution, we commemorate that Kosovo is independent, and the Constitution is the guarantor of our rights and freedom. It is a commitment to build a better future for us and for generations to come.
