For 4 months they lost 103m euros in Trust

Kosovo's Pension Savings Fund has suffered significant decline in value since the end of last year. More than 100m euros in investments have been lost as a result of developments in global markets. According to economists, fluctuations on international stock exchanges have been influenced by American President Donald Trump's decisions. And Trust officials say the diversification strategy has eased the consequences, while experts seek greater care in distributing investments in the future.

103m euros less figure in Trust purse compared to last December, writes Time.net.

According to economists, this is the result of trade policies pursued by United States President Donald Trump.

The Kosovars' pension savings are invested in foreign but even local companies with the aim of saving and increasing savings value.

Visar Vokrri, professor of economy, says the tariffs President Trump has imposed on the global stock and investment markets.

 This is the result of uncertainties that have been created in capital financial markets, due to new geopolitical circumstances, if they can say so, especially after the trade measures President Trump has taken in the United States. This has then reflected on investments that Trust has made to”, he stated.

However, in the institution that manages savings, they say they managed the situation well.

“From the beginning of 2025 to the reporting date, important stock indexes such as S&P 500 and  NA SDAQ, have scored -10.2% and -1.5%, respectively. In spite of that, the effects on the Kosovo Pension Savings Fund (so Trust) portfolios were more controlled, due to the balanced structure and the diversification strategy that is consistently implemented”, the Trust report said.

The Trust has three wallets, the conservatives, for contributors near 63 years of retirement or

more than that, without any deviation.

The balanced portfolio, for contributors of 58-62 years old, which according to the Trust has a return performance -3.9%.

And the standard portfolio for people under 57, who got the biggest hit in return for investments by -7.1%.

Most savings are invested in information technology sectors, finance, industry, health care, energy, and so on.

437 million are invested in Kosovo's budget -- 66 million in the US company Microsoft, 57 million in the Apple Company -- and there are investments in banks operating in Kosovo.

According to economist Vokrri, Trust investment should be careful, especially in unstable economic and geopolitical situations.

“Must be careful to develop the diversification of portfolios in order to also ensure relatively good returns, but also easier risk management that could result from market fluctuations. So the combination in investment in the inside, but even in markets outside I believe it's the right one, but there's still a lot of caution to be invested”, he added.
