Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said a possible ceasefire with Russia should be monitored with the help of the United States through satellites and intelligence.

Zelensky said the issue of the invasion of Ukrainian territories was discussed at the meeting the Ukrainian delegation had with Americans in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, but that the solution is expected to have a difficult “dialog”.

Referring to the situation in Kursk, he acknowledged that the situation is “very difficult for the Ukrainian soldiers who still have a small part of this Russian region under their control.

The Ukrainian Army has denied, however, that its forces are at risk of being surrounded by the Russian military.

“Situata in the Kursk region is certainly very difficult,” said Zelensky, while securing at the same time that the army “achieved its goals” in this operation.

On the contrary, the situation in front of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine has stabilised, he added.

Zelensky also assured that he maintains normal “relations with US counterpart Donald Trump after their stormy meeting at the White House in late February.

“Close relations with the US are very important for Ukraine”, he said, adding that “we need normal and effective”.
