According to information published by Belgian police, raids are being conducted due to corruption allegations, money laundering, and counterfeiting documents, writes Euronews.

In total, 21 locations in Brussels and other parts of Belgium have been checked, as well as in several countries in Portugal. Some people have been arrested, however, their identities have not been disclosed.

This is not the first time the European Parliament is at the centre of a corruption scandal.
