Within a few days, authorities in Serbia said police “do not have voiceball”, threatened to prosecute all those who spread “such fraud” and, in the end, admitted there are sound devices, but that “have never been used by”.

The confession whether police have used voice ball to Serbian citizens begins on March 15th at a protest in Belgrade, which gathered hundreds of thousands of people, reports REL, broadcast Periscope.

Around 19:10 that day, as hundreds of thousands of citizens were quietly honouring the 15 victims of tragedy at Novi Sad's Iron Station, the crowd that was gathered on King Milan Street in Belgrade suddenly fled the street.

Some in attendance describe some strong and unusual sounds and vibrations.

Currently, there is no official information about what caused such a reaction.

After the protest, the witnesses spoke of a loud noise, shaking in the body, and some said that there were successive heat waves.

Many are evidence of health problems in the days following the protest.

The voice ball belongs to a group of nonlethal weapons that can be used for police and military purposes, such as control of riots, countering attacks, or long - distance communication.

The United Nations's instructions for 2020 say that even though such weapons have been created to reduce the risk of death compared with conventional firearms, the use of them can cause serious injury or death.

Students, who called the March 15th protest, accused authorities of using the voice ball.

Many of the opposition politicians joined them.

Materials from social networks, as well as citizens' testimony, are gathering six civil society organisations from Belgrade, which believe that “have serious doubts that some means have been used to disperse protesters”.

The European Union called for a quick, transparent and reliable “investigation of these claims.

March 15th: “Disgrace”

Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs was the first to react, denying the information that police had used voiceball during the protest.

According to the statement, the Interior Ministry has never used and used tools that are not lawfully advanced.

Three hours after the incident, Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, turned to the public, denying that voice ball has been used in the protest.

I want not only to deny it, but to say that accusations are shameful that someone has used the voice ball”, he said.

Then, insults in the direction of the opposition followed.

“Let it remain in the honour of those opposition liars who invented the zanor” balls, Vuciq said.

March 16th: “

The next day, Serbia's outgoing Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivica Dacic, repeated guarantees from the dictatorship leading.

“In the avalanche of false news, I would like to deny all malicious claims and re-encumber him under full moral and criminal responsibility that police have not used any illegal means during yesterday's” rally, Dachic said.

Serbia's Defence Ministry also issued a statement saying that, like Serbia's Army, “has not used and used a fairy ball or means that are not provided by law”.

Vuciq called on the Ministry of Justice and Prosecutorship to determine the truth about using the zanor top” and “prosecute those who went out publicly with such fraud and upset citizens”.

Belgrade's Supreme Public Prosecutor ordered the First Public Prosecution to establish a case and identify people who have spread information in opinion, that the Emergency Centre has treated dozens of people with diseases that may have been caused by the explosion of the zanor ball.

The State Public Prosecutor's statement says this institution has reacted, as the Emergency of the University Clinical Centre of Serbia has denied these claims made on social networks.

The prosecution said in its announcement that the “persons who have distributed this information are suspected of committing criminal acts: causing panic and unrest”, which is sentenced to prison for up to five years.

March 17th: Police “do not have voice top”

Two days after the protest, the First Public Foundation Prosecutor in Belgrade opened a case and ordered the Ministry of Internal Affairs to determine exactly what happened in Belgrade's protest.

“After hearing a strong and unusual sound at a student protest organised on March 15th, during a 15-minute silence, which caused panic, postponement, postponement and decline of citizens gathered on the road King Milan, the Public Prosecutor opened a case and ordered the Republic of Serbia's Interior Ministry to determine exactly what has happened”, the prosecution said.

She also ordered an investigation into whether any of the accumulated citizens suffered injuries.

On the same day, Dachic denied that the MPB owns the zonor top or Worthex Ring Gun, Vortex Canon, LRAD 1000X of American production “Genassis”, or similar weapons of Russian production “Rusederic”.

He also said that “based on statements of all persons who commanded police units” that day, “has not been used by any illegal vehicle”.

Responding to claims that some people have sought help in health institutions, Dacic said these are political games and that it is up to health workers to answer what is in question.

Asked about the video in which an unidentified sound is heard and participants in the protest appear to be leaving, Dacic said the prosecution would determine what happened.

On the same day, Vuciq indicated the time when investigations by the prosecution would end for, as he said, those who spread lies.

The “Accounts will be completed completely within 48 hours and, later, all those responsible for fiction and such lies will respond to justice”, Vuciq said in an Instagram video.

Vuciq said that there was no voice ball on the road, because, as expressed, “cannot be missed and you can't not listen to”.

He added that the Serbian Army and military police department “Corra” do not have that device.

The same day, outgoing Prime Minister Milos Vuchevyq joined these claims, saying it is a fabricated “conference”.

He also said the outgoing government is willing to officially invite the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) to investigate claims to use the voice ball in protest.

March 18th: Serbian police have 100X LRAD

Three days after the protest, Dacic told Serbia's Prva Television that police have no voice ball.

“As far as sound is concerned, we only have equipment for stronger warnings. It can be a stronger megaphone used for voice messages. But nothing was used that day”, Dachic said.

During that day, a session of Serbia's Parliament's Defence and Home Affairs Commission was held, in which the voice ball was discussed.

Responding to opposition MP Miroslav Aleksik's question, Daçic said for the first time that the Interior Ministry has “LRAD 100X”

He said the device was purchased in 2021, but police don't use it.

Serbia's Defence Minister Bratislav Gashic said on that occasion that his ministry has taken steps to verify the data on what happened during the protests.

Serbia's Agency for Security and Information Director (BIA), Valdomir Orliq, said nobody has put the ball out on the streets of Belgrade. According to him, the turmoil in the March 15th protest occurred because of people's panicous response.

The same day, the First Public Foundation Prosecutor in Belgrade announced that state institutions have not used voice ball.

According to her, this findings were reached on the basis of the Ministry of Interior Affairs and Information of the Ministry of Defence, Health Ministry and Security and Intelligence report.

By the end of the day, a statement from the Interior Ministry has arrived, saying Dachic has sought help from the FBI for an analysis in the field of use of sound waves.

In an appearance on Pink Television that evening, Vuciq said he would not stay in his position if it was found to be the use of the voice ball at the protest.

March 19: “Unprecedented Declaration”

Daciac confirmed once again to the newspaper “Danas” that the Ministry of Internal Affairs owns voice weapons, but also said, these systems are stored in boxes in warehouses, that they are not put into use and are not mounted in any tool or system.

Asked afterwards why the Interior Ministry said it does not own voice ball, or any other similar voice weapons, Dacic said it was a reckless statement.

“What was meant by it was that the Interior Ministry did not include this tool in its austerity vehicle arsenal”, Daciq told “Danas”.

And, in the question of why the state has “purchased the system, when it is not allowed to use it, Dacic said it was a failed investment.

During the day, opposition Party for Freedom and Justice MP Marinka Tepiq accused the interior ministry of buying LRAD equipment as <x0 malarm for psychological and physical torture of citizens on the street”.

According to her, these equipment was paid in 2021 with 81m dinars, or 690 thousand euros.

Tepiq showed a photo of a Gendarmerie jeep near Serbia's Assembly on March 15th, where, according to her, it looked like a windball device LRAD 450XL from the company “Genasis”.

Her party filed criminal charges against the president of Serbia and other individuals responsible for, as it said, the “political terror and brutal violation of human rights”.

Dacic acknowledged that the Interior Ministry owns LRAD-450 equipment XL and LRAD-100X, but they are used only for warning, or for sending audio messages during large gatherings.

March 20th: Vuchevic writes to US vice president

Serbia's outgoing prime minister, Vuchevic, said he has sent a letter to the US vice president, J. D. Vance, in which he has asked the US to be involved in investigating claims to use the voiceball in Belgrade's March 15th protests.

“I have supported President Aleksandar Vuciq's initiative to include the American authorities in investigating false claims by opposition media for the supposed use of the zanor ball, or another similar device, during the protest on March 15th”, Vuchev wrote in an Instagram post.

He, too, said he has thanked Vance for “everything that the American people have done for Serbs in crucial historical periods, during the two world wars, but also after them”.

The company “Genassis”, which produces LRAD equipment, said the evidence thus far did not indicate they were used during the protests in Belgrade on 15 March.

“The video and audio witnesses we have seen and heard so far do not indicate the use of the LRAD during the March 15th incident in Belgrade”, the company said.

Daçic said this “is an important test that destroys all lies and manipulations made” and “confirms that the so-called zanor ball is not used in the rally in Belgrade”.
