According to foreign media, the 88-year-old Pope will be released Sunday and will need at least two months off at the Vatican, said doctors who handle it broadcast Periscope.
Over the past five weeks, he presented “two very critical times” where his “s were at risk”, said Dr. Sergio Alfier, one of the doctors who treated the Pope.
Pope Francescu never became enthusiastic and remained alert and oriented, Dr Alfier said. The pope is not fully healed but no longer has pneumonia and is now in a stable condition, according to his doctors.
“Today, we are happy to say that tomorrow he will be home”, Dr Alfier told reporters on Saturday, writes A2 CNN.
The pope will offer a blessing from his window at the Gemelli hospital on Sunday, the first time he will appear in public since being admitted to the hospital, before returning to his residence at the Vatican.
Dr Alfier said that double pneumonia patients lose little voice and “over and over again to the elderly will take time for your voice to become normal”.
On Friday, Cardinal Victor Fernandez had said that the high-flowed <x0-oxygen said everything” and, as a result, the Pope “had to re-remember how to speak”, Reuters reported.
If the improvement trend continues, doctors say, the pope will be able to return to work as soon as possible.
