Kosovo police have conducted a wide operation in the country's north, with a focus on fighting criminal activities, smuggling with weapons and ammunition.
The action has included two regions -- South Mitrovica and Northern Mitrovica -- and has been carried out in co-ordination with competent security institutions.
The event is held at 21 locations in Mitrovica, where a total of 16 people have been arrested.
Mitrovica Foundation Prosecutor's spokesman Valon Preteni has confirmed the outcome of the operation and has announced that, with the prosecutor's decision, 13 of the 16 detainees have been sent to the detention.
Police have stressed that after the end of the action, additional details will be provided for the results of the operation and the investigations that will follow. The action is part of efforts to prevent criminal activities in the country's north and ensure order and law. /
