Rescue teams are also searching for missing persons in a three-story building in Bangkok's Bang Khun Thian.
Police dogs are set to help in the search operations, along with the drones, Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechachachai said.
He said that the top priority was the rescue of as many survivors as possible and that extreme care was being taken with rescue efforts.
