“The findings have confirmed that the defendant, during the 1998-1999 period in the village of Orek Hyla of the Gjakova municipality, acting in co-ordination with members of Serbian police forces, committed murders, violations, arrests and mistreatment against the Albanian civilian population who were not involved in war”, said in the statement.

The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo has filed charges against indictees M.I, of Albanian Nationality, due to well-based suspicion of having committed criminal work: “wage the war against the civilian population”, sanctioned on Article 142 concerning the 22 of the former RSFJ's Criminal Law.
Investigations have proven that the defendant, during the 1998-1999 period in the village of Orek Hyla of the Gjakova municipality, acting in co-ordination with members of Serbian police forces, committed murders, violations, arrests and mistreatment against the Albanian civilian population who were not involved in the war.
The prosecution has proposed taking the trial in absentia, confirming the KPPK provisions, because the defendant is on the run.
The Special Prosecutor remains committed to pursuing and bringing all persons responsible for war crimes in Kosovo to justice.
