Gani Shala, veteran of the Kosovo Liberation Army, is willing to donate his wife's kidney to save her life, but his family faces a major financial challenge.
Ganiu, who has been married for 30 years and fathered three children, says that he has never hesitated to give his wife a kidney.
The woman is 53 years old. It's been so hard for me to come out and look for money. 50% of the sum has been collected, but funds are still needed. The operation costs 20,000 euros without counting other expenses. Anyone who can help us. The operation will take place in Turkey, along with necessary tests and treatments. I don't mind saving a life is a big deal. If I could, even I would give my blood without hesitation,” he said in a conversation about IndexOnline.
In these difficult days, the Shala family has appealed for help, thanking all those who have already contributed and inviting Kosovo citizens to help, however little, with this humanitarian cause.
We hope that both of us will be able to enjoy good health.
