The deputy prime minister of the Republic of Croatia and Defence Minister Ivan Anuspi has said the time has passed when his country has asked Serbia what it is allowed to do and what it is not. He even said that that time will never come back.
These comments, Anussic made after Belgrade's official response to the signing of the memorandum between Kosovo, Albania and Croatia, a memorandum which Serbia described as a threat to the Serbian people.
The Serbian MPJ even said it would seek additional clarifications from Albania and Croatia on the issue.
The time has passed when Croatia asked Belgrade what it was allowed to do and how it should do, and that will never happen again. We're an independent state for 35 years, and we've spent five years of aggression and politics communicating such a thing. Croatia has the right to sign memorandums. Kosovo is a friendly country that we have recognised and other countries will join this memorandum. There is no mention in the document of Serbia, aggression or any activity that could endanger someone, including Serbia”, the Croatian deputy prime minister said.
He added that the goal is co-operation with other countries and industries, exchange of knowledge, and working together to combat cyber threats, to which Croatia, Kosovo and Albania have been exposed in the past five or six years.
The “Memorandum has to do with preventing security threats on the territory of the three countries. Croatia will certainly not seek Belgrade's permission for its” decisions, annusic pointer.
The Kosovo, Albania, Croatia agreement on the military coalition- reacted to Serbia: Try.
Kosovo Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia said yesterday that the goal of co-operation is not a threat to anyone, but a message to those intent on threatening the region.
The implementation of this co-operation is not a threat to anyone, but it is a message to those aiming to threaten peace and stability in the Western Balkans, but also the security of our countries. Our three countries that share common values and interests are united to face any threat and risk aimed at destabilizing the region. The importance of this co-operation lies in other areas that were highlighted earlier by the two ministers, especially in the defence industry, the exchange of personnel, training and education. One of the key points of this document is that Croatia and Albania will consistently engage in support of Kosovo in its Euro-Atlantic integration processes. This document paves the way for collaboration in particular to face modern dangers that threaten regional security that are hybrid and other threats. It paves the way for other countries to join this joint effort for peace of stability and more security”, he said.
Meanwhile, Albania's Defence Minister, Pirro Veng, said signing this agreement is an important step for strengthening security and stability in the region, as well as developing capacities in meeting common risks and challenges.
The statement translates not only a political will, but also some priorities that we share. It primarily concerns the importance of our countries bringing renewed military industry building and the need for our countries to cooperate deeper and wider on this pillar of national security. The second point is about co-operation our armed forces will have, whether in training or capacity. Kosovo and Albania have something to learn from a valuable ally like Croatia. This statement opens the drawer of deeper co-operation, and we have taken interest in other allies joining this initiative”, he said.
And Croatian Defence Minister Ivan Anussic said after signing that this strategic development reflects the close alliance among three states, related by history, sacrifices for freedom, and a common vision for a secure future, Klankosova broadcasts.
Because of geopoliticalism, we want to have cooperation in our region given the risks that are present and the situations that are taking place in Europe, referring to Ukraine as well. We're also thinking about our past which is not too distant. An information we have from the past and gives us an opportunity to think about, so we've made the decision to have a partnership between three countries. This co-operation will especially be based on providing assistance to the development part of the defence industry, changing the fulfillment of all the agreements we have signed so far. These now want to empower and share the experience of our state as Croatia as part of NATO and the EU”, Anussic stressed.
This trilateral agreement was considered the first in the region./Periscopi/
