Trump sets 25% tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports

U.S. President Donald Trump has placed 25 percent of the tariffs on all steel and aluminum products that enter the United States, threatening to escalate the trade war that has shaken markets worldwide. Trump has decided to increase American aluminum fees by 25 percent, by contrast [...]
Trump has made the decision to raise American aluminum fees to 25 percent, as opposed to previous ten percent, and has canceled the quota deals, or other specific exceptions to both metals.
The White House has confirmed that the measures will take effect on 4 March, reports Radio Free Europe.
The tariffs will be implemented for millions of tonnes of steel and aluminum imports from Canada, Brazil, Mexico and South Korea, as well as other countries whose goods have entered the US without any additional taxes.
Trump has told reporters at the White House that this decision will only simplify metal tariffs.
It's a 25 percent fee, no exception. For all states, no matter where they are, for all states”, he said.
Trump later said he would consider Australia's demand for exemption from tariffs in steel products, due to the trade deficit with the US.
Government and industry statistics show that Canada, Brazil, Mexico and South Korea are countries most imported to US steel.
Canada is behind 80 percent of US aluminum imports.
Trump has told reporters that on February 11th or 12th he will make public “reciprocal tariffs” to states that have already imposed tariffs on American products.
If they've set a 130 percent fee, and we haven't put anything on you, it won't be like that”, Trump said.
Trump's business adviser, Peter Navarro, has said the latest measures would help American steel and aluminum producers increase US trade and national security.
This is about business. It's about guaranteeing that America will never depend on foreign countries for critical industries like steel and aluminum”.
Experts have said the tariffs will affect the entire world economy.
