During a detailed search at the Bogordica border checkpoint, authorities in northern Macedonia discovered and seized 150kg of marijuana hidden in a Skopje license truck, reports euronews.
According to preliminary information, the truck had entered from Kosovo and was scheduled to transit across northern Macedonia towards Greece, with a final destination for Turkey.
The operation was realised as interilateral co-operation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Directorate, under a memorandum of co-operation signed in November 2024.
Investigations are continuing to identify all persons involved and traffic organisation mode. Meanwhile, narcotics will undergo further forensic analysis and expertise. According to estimates, on the black market this amount of drugs can amount to over 1.5m euros.
