Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) has recommended the suspension of three police officials after allegedly facing a clash between some people on January 16th in Podujevo, but have been exiled.
According to the IPK, several people were fighting on the street, while police officials passed through that segment of the road in a private car but in official uniform. They have contacted the parties involved, but they have not arrested anyone or taken any action “so the alleged parties have left the scene of the”.
According to IPK allegations, this happened after one of the officials had family ties to one of the suspects.
The incident between the alleged parties was reported to have occurred on 16 January 2025 in Podujevo, where some people had physically clashed. Police officials have gone through that segment of the road by private car (but in official uniform) and have contacted the parties involved in the case. However, based on initial investigative actions, it is suspected that these police officials have not arrested any of the suspects and have not received any other notes or actions, so the alleged parties have left the scene. Allegations of IPK investigators are that this happened after one of the police officials had family ties to one of the suspects, said the Inspectorate communiqué.
Police allegedly committed criminal work “misusing official task”.
The IPK has stressed that it will continue to take further investigative actions leading to the lighting of this case.
