Romanian President Klaus Iohannis resigned this Monday ahead of the country's repeated presidential elections.
As reported byReuters, opposition parties in the Romanian parliament are scheduled to launch the Iohannis judiciary process, Romania's Supreme Court had earlier decided that Ihannis, whose mandate expired on December 21st, must remain in office until the new elections are held on May 4th.
The court cancelled, ahead of the second round of presidential elections in December, the results of the first round and announced that the entire election process must be repeated.
The Supreme Court's decision came after Iohannis declassified intelligence that Russia had conducted a co-ordinated online campaign to promote the right arm Calin Gheorgheescu, who won the most votes in the first round of elections.
