Russia is open for talks even with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky himself, despite the problems he has regarding his legitimacy.
The statement was made by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by the news agency “Tass”.
Responding to the question of whether Russian President Putin considers Zelensky an enemy, Peskov has said there is no room for emotion in the matter.
There should be spaces for legal analysis and absolute pragmatism”, Peskov said.
He added that even contact with the new American administration with the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis is under way.
“They are being done through certain departments and intensifying”, Peskov added.
Earlier was President Zelensky, who has expressed the will to negotiate directly with the Russian counterpart. If this is the only form that can bring peace to Ukrainian citizens and not death, then we will accept it”, Zelensky said.
But he has also expressed the desire that representatives of the European Union and the United States as well be present at the negotiating table.
In this respect, President Trump's special named, General Kathy Kellogg has declared he will discuss his proposals with allies to end the war.
Talks will be held under the Security Conference, held in Munich from February 14th to February 16th. I'm meeting with allies who are willing to work with us”, Kellog said.
