Professor Artan Nimani has called on the prosecution to act in terms of the voting process.
Nimani has written that these elections have highlighted mass misuse of the vote.
“The multiple voting scandal, the prosecution must act immediately! The election process is one of the main pillars of democracy, and any violation of it undermines citizens' trust in state institutions. But recent elections in Kosovo have highlighted a serious problem, in addition to delays in publishing results and “technical problems”,: mass misuse of the vote, through multiple voting and other manipulations that violate the integrity of the”, he said.
He further stressed that 868 multiple voting cases have been identified and that they represent scandal for the voting process.
“According to data published so far, 868 cases of multiple voting have been identified, where one person has voted more than once, in some cases up to 10 times, 19 others have been found who have physically voted in embassies, while sending their vote through the post, violating election law. These figures represent not only some isolated cases but a literal scandal that raises serious doubts about the security and honesty of the voting process”
The state's “Procurory must immediately start investigating and ensure that all those who have manipulated the vote face justice. Similarly, the Central Election Commission (KQZ) must account for how this violation occurred and what measures will be taken to prevent the repetition of such a situation in the upcoming elections. Vote is the foundation of democracy. If she is manipulated, we cannot talk about free and fair choices. Silence is not the option- this is the time for immediate action”, he said.
