She urged urgent institutions responsible to take measures to protect citizens.
With deep concern and great anger, I am addressing all competent organs, including the Pristina municipality, the respective institutions and the animal protection associations, to seek urgent action on the alarming situation that has taken on frightening proportions in the city. The situation with wandering dogs, who have high concentrations in some areas of Pristina, has become completely unacceptable and dangerous to citizens. These dogs, unscathed and often aggressive, have caused serious concerns, assaulting and seriously hurting citizens, physically and leaving us with long-term consequences that many people have had psychological trauma” she said.
She has also shared a personal experience, showing that on February 2nd of this year, she was severely attacked by a large group of dogs in the vicinity of the National Library in Pristina.
I was yesterday, on February 2, 2025, seriously attacked by a large crowd of dogs in the vicinity of the National Library, on the road to the Cathedral Square. The dogs suddenly emerged from the courtyard of Church and Gallery, causing me great fear and inflicting severe injuries on me. All of this happened, and there were no passersby who could help me. With great effort, I was able to leave the area, and with the help of my forces, I headed to CKUK, where I received needed medical attention. This event is just one of many similar things that occur in the city daily. It is not acceptable to continue these attacks and threats against innocent citizens. The situation has gone beyond what might be called a simple concern this is a threat to citizens' security and a crisis requiring immediate action by authorities. Therefore, I appeal strongly to all responsible institutions to take immediate measures to solve the problem. The wandering dogs on the streets of the city and the quick non-intervention of institutions is a neglect that is causing citizens pain and constant fear of”, she wrote on yesterday's Facebook post.
