In congratulations, President Steinmeier has reaffirmed Germany's support for Kosovo's European independence and path, recalling that his state in February 2008 was among the first countries to recognise the state of Kosovo.
Over the past few years, we have constantly deepened our co-operation, whether in security policies, in EU approach reforms or in the field of climate and energy policies”, says the wish of President Steinmeier.
Furthermore, Steinmeier has suggested that in foreign policy issues, Kosovo is clearly positioned in line with the European Union's foreign policy and security, especially in supporting Ukraine against Russia's aggression, in violation of international law.
“German supports Kosovo's international recognition unchanged and wants it to become a member of the European Union”, the wish said.
At the end of his congratulations, President Steinmeier has stressed that Germany remains a powerful supporter of Kosovo, supporting stability, development and European integration.
