Those in an answer to Insider have said that the US has also made clear their expectations, that NATO aletats do more, invest more and produce more in support of security.
“American officials have made clear their commitment to the Alliance (Northern), including the US presence in Europe, and that NATO prevention and defence must remain strong. As part of this, the US has also made clear its expectations for NATO allies to do more, invest more and produce more in support of our common security. NATO is constantly adapting to a changing environment. This is part of what it takes to stay ready”, says their response.
“Our commitment to stability throughout the Western Balkans is steadfast. KFOR continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially, and in close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union's Mission for Rule of Law in Kosovo, in their respective roles as security reactors. The United States continues to play a fundamental role within KFOR, through its long contribution, which currently reaches over 600 troops”, say further from KFOR.
German tabled '%Bildʹ through information sources has said it has learned that Italy is making preparations for a possible scenario of attracting American troops from Kosovo.
Although the new American president, Donald Trump, is quoting that he has denied the complete withdrawal of American troops from Europe, BILD in an article entitled “Europe in fear! Intelligence agencies fear the withdrawal of US troops” quoted several sources as saying Italy is getting ready for a possible scenario of attracting American troops from Kosovo.
“According to BILD information, Italy is also preparing for a possible withdrawal of American troops from Kosovo. Then European allies would be alone in the Balkans against Putin's friend Aleksandar Vuciq, as well as his powerful Serbian army”, says their reporting.
