Former head of the Appeals Court, Hasan Shala, has commented on the question of Prime Minister Albin Kurti's failure to present himself to the Special Prosecutor.
He stressed that the prosecution has taken the case to the tribunal and it is fair that it will make a decision on the issue. According to him, a court ruling is now expected to decide whether Kurt will be invited to appear before the Court, or whether other measures will be taken.
Of course, the prosecution made the request to the Court, and the latter is the one to make this decision not to present Kurt at the Prosecutor's Office in connection with the testimony he should give in the case of State Reserve. So now, of course, a decision is expected on the part of the Court as far as I have information that will also make the decision to appear or make other arrangements. So this should go to regular procedure, Shala told FrontOnline.
He added that, in the event of failure, Kurt could be punished with a fine of 250 euros, and that sentence could be repeated for a similar amount.
If a lack of respect for calls is continued, other measures could be taken, such as his association to the prosecutor. However, he stressed that each step must be followed according to procedure and in line with the Code of Criminal Procedure.
