The Kosovo Pharmacists' Oda (OFK) has requested legal opinion by the Kosovo Tax Administration regarding the Health Ministry's decision on drug prices.
The OFK has welcomed ATK's legal opinion, which they say confirms that the price of pharmaceutical products should be the open market value, but not less than the cost of production and distribution.
In an announcement O The FK stressed that this opinion of ATK is an important step towards ensuring transparency and protection of the interests of drugs and pharmaceutical industry in Kosovo.
Also, Oda asked the Ministry of Health and its respective organs to take immediate action to prevent drug damage due to excessive stock and illegal decisions taking place in the process.
The Kosovo pharmaceuticals' “Oda welcomes ATK's legal opinion, which confirms that the product price should be the open market value, but not less than the cost price.
The OFK once again invites its Ministry of Health and its subordinate organs from the stock action company, with which drugs are damaged in implementing illegal decisions”, the OFK report said.
The OFK expressed its readiness to co-operate with the Ministry of Health and other important institutions to ensure implementation of the legality of this decision on the ground.
In contrast to the Kosovo pharmaceutical and Medical Product Distributors' Association (SHDPFMK) has reacted to the recent decision of the Health Ministry (MSH) to determine drug prices, expressing concern about the impact this decision may have on the pharmaceutical market and the drug supply in Kosovo.
