The company announced users via messages, emails and applications reports, while the new law goes into effect on December 10th.
Meanwhile, children under 16 will not be able to create new accounts in Instagram, Facebook and Threeads, reports Telegraph, broadcast Periscope.
The affected users have been asked to download posts and messages before the account closes, while those claiming to be over 16 could be verified with video safe or identification documents.
Authorities warn fines of up to $50m to Australian platforms that do not take reasonable measures. The government calls this a step for “) allowed children to be children”, while Meta rejects the law, but says he will respect the rules.
Meanwhile, platforms like Robox are also presenting new restrictions on juvenile safety in Australia. /Periscope/
