Gorden Wagener, the principal director of the design of car producers, is leaving the company after 28 years.
He started his Mercedes career in 1997 and one of the first cars he designed was Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren iconic.
He designed it together with Gordon Murray, the man after McLaren F1.
The SLR would enter production in 2003 with a V-8 5.4 liters of supercompressor under the engine cap, and that was just the beginning of Wegener's long career with Mercedes.
Wagener would become the design chief in 2008, overseeing Mercedes design - AMG First generation GT, W222 S-Class and W176 A-Class
He would then take on the role of Disaine Director in 2016, a title he has held since then.
Over the past decade, it has designed R232 New SL, launched modern G-Class and is responsible for the design of ECQ brand electric vehicles.
Not every stylistic choice he made has been a success of consumers, but designing something without knowing how people will react is part of the job.
Some of the last models he helped design include the new CLA, the GLC in the electric and the amazing Vision Iconic model, which represents a new design course for brand.
Recently, Wagener criticised the Mercedes contestor interviewer.
He compared Concept C of Audi's cabin to a car designed in 1995 and admitted that he was not a fan of the X3 screen stretching down the bottom of the front window.
