Many Snapchat users have reported loss of messages and friends after deleting and reinstalling the app, due to a major break from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
During Monday, Snapchat users presented more than 22,000 cases of trouble, with many unable to access their accounts, send messages, or load the app.
In some extreme cases, they faced a message announcing the temporary account deadlock after failed attempts.
The break has affected many apps and websites, including Ring, Coinbase, Roblox and Fortnite. Snapchat users are now heading to X to explain that their messages and friends have disappeared after the removal and reinstalling of the app. Many reported that they did not know what to do when Snapchat went down and thought erasing and reinstalling would fix the problem. A user wrote: “I wiped out and reinstalled Snapchat, now I can't find my friends and all my snaps are gone. Oh, my God!
Another added: “I delete and re-install Snapchat, now I can't find friends and all my snaps are gone.” One third said: “I didn't know Snapchat was down, erased and reinstalled, and everything was gone. ”
If you've lost a shelter with someone on the app, there's a chance to get them back. You can try to restore an deleted stream by looking for a “Restore” button near the conversation, which is the simplest way to show it.
According to the national world, if you don't see it, you can fill out a form on Snapchat's support page to request a review by the Snapchat team. Stream can only return if the “Restore” is visible or if you act quickly to ask for it out of support.
Snapchat has yet to issue a statement on the issue. Also, it is not yet known when the app will become fully operational for all users.
