The White House has reportedly withdrawn an order authorising the federal freeze of hundreds of billions of dollars in grants and loans.
The decision comes after a judge temporarily suspended the order Tuesday, the same day he had to go into effect, broadcast the clancosova.
The order was detained until next Monday, following a lawsuit filed by a group of organisations representing grants beneficiaries.
In a letter of January 29th, it simply said: “M-25-13 The WTO is canceled. ”
Still unclear is what has prompted the visible turn.
The White House budget office head had instructed agencies to temporarily prevent all activities related to obligations or the disbursement of all federal financial aid”.
The office said the move was meant to give the new administration time to assess which grants and loans were in line with their agenda.
But the order caused widespread confusion about which agencies and programs would be affected.
