“Gani Jakupi of Post “, Union obliges management to disclose the 8 thousand-euro document

Kosovo's post has paid 80,000 euros for the commitment of a consultant -- an expense that has sparked harsh reactions both within the company and in public opinion. Post workers have compared this case to Gani Jakup's famous engagement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Kurti Government, raising [...]
The engagement of a consultant with such a fee over the past year has prompted sharp reactions among Post workers. The case has been compared to Gani Jakupi's commitment by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Kurti Government.
According to Democracy.com, Post consultant Muharrem Mustafa had finished his work by drafting a report on the company's restructuring process. However, the Board and the Post Management have refused to make this document public, keeping it secret even against workers and the Union Association “Post”.
Despite the Union's official request, based on the Law on Access to Public Documents, the management has continued not to disclose the report. For this reason, the Union Association has taken the matter to the Agency for Information and Privateship, which on 24 January 2025 made its final decision, giving the Post within seven days to hand over consultant documentation to the union.
The Agency's decision was published by the Union on its Facebook page.
The Union Association has been crying out for years against decisions on the Post management, which in some cases have been qualified as illegal by the Labour Inspectorate and courts. These decisions have included unfair worker degradation, punitive measures and political favourability in employment and advancements.
Posta has been fined tens of thousands of euros for such illegal acts, which have included promotions of workers close to the ruling party and the Kurti Government.
In recent years, the union has accused, protested and organised strikes due to serious working conditions, party favour in restructuring and political employment, including the appointment of advisers by Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Gervala in the Post.
