Fajon: We will support Sorensen's election, Kosovo-Serbia dialogue in EU agenda

Slovenia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, said today that the ministers of EU member states will support the election of Danish diplomat Peter Sorensen as the EU's new special envoy for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia and said this dialogue will be high on the agenda [...]
“Today we will support the new EU special envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, the respected and well-known Danish diplomat Sorensen, who has already led European delegations to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Northern Macedonia,” told reporters after arriving in the EU from the Council for Foreign Affairs meeting.
She added that “dialog between Kosovo and Serbia will continue to be high in the European Union agenda”.
Ambassadors of EU member states confirmed last Friday Sorensen's appointment as the new EU special envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and final approval must be given by the foreign affairs ministers of EU member states so that he can begin his mandate in early February.
Sorensen was nominated by EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Kaya Kalas as the EU's special envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
The mandate of current EU special envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak, lasts until 31 January.
