Donald Trump signs the order specifying recognition of only two genders

On the first day of his return to the White House, President Donald Trump signed an executive order specifying that the United States government will recognise only two genders, male and female. By order, the definition of genders will be based on biological ability to produce eggs or sperm, not chromosomes. The move will affect federal documents such as passports and will require that prisons, shelters and other public facilities be divided by this criterion.
The order also prohibits demands that government employees refer to transgjitors according to names consistent with their gender identity, arguing that this violates freedom of speech and religion protected by the First Amendment.
A second order called safe “=x2> aims to end federal funding for biodiversity, equality and inclusion programmes (DEI). To implement this, government agencies will hold monthly meetings to review existing programmes and decide whether they should continue or close.
The movement is expected to spur major debates, while critics see it as a step back for community rights LGBTQ+ and initiatives for diversity. /euronews
