An air crash between an American Army helicopter and a passenger plane from the American Airlines Company has caused a serious situation at the “Rogan Reagan” airport in Washington.
American President Donald Trump has reacted to the event through a post on his platform “Truth Social”, naming it an incident that “should have been prevented”.
“Helicopter was heading towards a plane for a long time. It's a clear night, the lights on the plane were on fire. Why didn't the helicopter climb or land or come back? Why didn't the control tower give him clear instructions?
It is unclear whether the president's statements are based on official information. CNN has contacted the White House for more details on the matter.
According to preliminary reports, there were 64 passengers aboard the plane, while 3 members of the American Army were on the helicopter. So far, rescue teams have managed to extract at least 19 troops, while search-saving operations continue.
